I just bought Xandros desk top premium addition(ver 4) and it is good!
It picks up everything on the install, card readers SATA drives everything and all in the proper order.
And, it instantly picks up every other machine on your network, and you can share files with windows machines. Seems very stable , so far so good!
Good choice Ed, I beta tested it and found exactly as you did. Found everything for me even with the newest equipment. Install was quite fast and even works perfectly through VmWare.

Great distro and well worth what I paid for it!
So where can I buy this distro in the GTA area?

I purchased mine online. This is a list of retailers that I found, don't know if they are online only. http://www.xandros.com/partners/find_a_reseller.html

I found the following description for Xandros Destop Home Edition Premium:
Run Microsoft Office and other Popular Windows Applications
Xandros Desktop Home Edition – Premium includes a full version of CodeWeavers CrossOver Office Standard 5.0.3. Run Microsoft Office, Intuit Quicken, Adobe Photoshop and many other Windows applications in Xandros. (Xandros Desktop – Home Edition includes a 30-day trial version of CodeWeavers CrossOver Office Standard).
What does CodeWeavers and CrossOver Office Standard do? What would be the additional cost to keep these two programs? Are they worth keeping?

Its kind of a tunnel application to help you run some of the popular Windows applications that would otherwise have trouble using Wine alone (I think).
My money would go with KOffice and/or OpenOffice. Both are actually free and open source projects. Both are full featured, respected apps. Both will open and save MSOffice documents.
Most people who MUST also run Windows (like myself), have a dual-boot configuration. If you're curious, I boot to Windows mostly for two things. 1. Programming in Delphi (Object Pascal). 2. Recording TV programs, because I haven't yet spent the time to set up MythTV on the Linux side (its on my short list).

The name "Crossover Office" is a bit misleading as it does more than make MS office work in Linux.

True enough. I took a moment to read more about it. Having just skimmed the feature text, it looks like a nice setup. It appears to serve the same purposes as Wine, just with more support and functionality (and cost).
