Can you guys help me review this site: http://www.winchemicals.ca (http://www.winchemicals.ca/)

I need to know what is wrong with the site and what can be improved?
I don't need many technical things just general things that can be improved. I noticed so far that the contact us page in Firefox 2.0 looks weird.
Anyway please help out as it is for a friend, thanks for your time.

Looks very nice, clean and smooth.

If it were me I'd want the "News" page as the first thing people see when they hit the page, not crazy about going to a site and seeing a bunch of links right off the bat. That's just a personal opinion for all I know it may be exactly as your friend wanted it.

The contact box overlaps the send button in Firefox but you already know that.:)

Very nice work.

A few things to maximize the potential of the website:

1.
The site has good content (needs more text on each page ... 250+ words suggested on each page), but the main page fails to be attention grabbing and is not good for Search Engine Optimization.

Suggestion: The left side green background column should be narrower, and therefore a bit longer. The list that composes the main page content now with the white background should be placed at the bottom of the white area - AFTER some attention grabbing text about what is being offered. The list should also be smaller point size - even 9pt would do, and shade of green about the same as the light green text in the header (or even lighter). The center area should be white BUT content rich. What is being offered, why I should deal with them, etc. It needs IMPACT. 250 plus words would be best.

You only have 10 seconds to catch a male readers attention, and 5 seconds to catch the female reader. This is based on industry studies of Internet surfers.

2.
Offer a free report in exchange for the site visitor's first name only and email address. Using an auto-responder (I can suggest a good one to use) to handle the list and redirect to the download page for the FREE report in PDF format. The report should be of interest to the target audience of your client. I suggest something about cleaning solutions that addresses today's environmental issues. This is so easy to do and builds an automatically managed database of potential clients. The auto-responder would be loaded with at least 12 pre-formatted emails, in text only format, that contains interesting information about cleaning, floor care, etc. Each email ends with a plug for your client's products that are related to the specific email content. Studies have shown that it takes 5 to 7 of these emails before someone decides to purchase. There are a few ways to display the free report offer that would be attractive.

3.
Above the Adobe PDF Reader logo, in 8pt type, put something like "All our documents are in the PDF file format. If you do not have a PDF reader you may download if for free directly from Adobe."

4.
Great design, colours, and overall appearance. Well done!

5.
Add the Google sitemap and Google analytics. The special site map maximizes the listing on Google and the Analytics provides unbelievable stats. All free from Google.

6.
Keyword embedding to maximize search engine listings. There are ways to find these also. You can find out what keywords relate to your client's business, use them within the text content of the pages - especially the main page - and also what words people use on Google and other search engines to locate your client's products/services.

CONTENT IS KING ... without it you are placing a business in the middle of the desert and no one knows it is there.
