I want to put Windows XP Pro on a system that is currently running 2000 Pro. I would like everything erased from 2000 so that I can start clean with xp.

What is the best way to do this?

Thank you in advance for your time and assistance!

Backup all important data from harddrive and conduct a clean install of Windows XP.

Bluvertigo pretty much answered your question, but I have to ask you; Why?

Why do you want to switch from W2k to XP?

Every expert I've ever heard talk about this has always said "if you are running W2k it's not worthwhile to upgrade to XP... only if you're still running 98 or ME is it worth an upgrade"

Remember one thing... W2k is NT version 5.0; XP is NT version 5.1
XP is nothing more than W2k with a fancy skin and few extra user tools

IMO, I'll be sticking with W2k until something better comes out... and I don't see that happening for a long time...
