Software Problem

I had American Greetings card #6 installed on my computer and removed it from the programs list and thru the add - remove in the control panel. I installed the new #8 version but this new version is still detecting the old # 6 program causing problems where I can not fully use the new #8. Can any one help me. I am only an intermeadiate computer user.

Sometimes when you go to 'Add/Remove Programs' it doesnt actually TOTALLY remove all traces of the program from your computer. There still might be registry values that you need to delete however, I wouldnt suggest manually deleting registry values if you dont know what your doing. Anywho... you can delete registry values by going to Start>Run>REGEDIT and you can use F3 to find what your looking for.

This might help .... uninstall again through ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS.

Reboot

Then go to the folder in Windows Explorer where the program was installed. Most likely c:/Program Files/"whatever" It still might be there with information that conflicts with a new install. Delete the folder and all that's in it.

Reboot.

Reinstall the program.

Let us know if that works.
