Hi,
The jpg files I d/load from my camera are huge anywhere from 550kb t0 1.33mb for ONE picture. so I'm having trouble transferring files of this size thru Outlook Express. How can I reduce the size of these files ? Actually any pics that I.ve recieved from other people are only approx 120kb. What am I doing wrong here ? Any help would be greatfully appreciated
Cheers! Dave Williams

Your camera should have come with software to do this. If not then download and install ifranview (http://www.irfanview.com/)
Instructions are fairly easy and you can the resize and optimize your pics.

You can change the image resolution (which is dependent on size) by using any one of a number of different image editing programs such as Adobe Photoshop or perhaps even your camera came with software that will allow you to change the image resolution. Transferring/emailing meg-sized jpegs may not be your thing so before all of this... decrease the image resolution of your pictures.
In any event, if you have Adobe Photoshop, then heres what to do:
Go to Image Size from drop down menu>Change the fields to your liking.
And viola! Lower resolution images that are easier to download/send!!!

If you have Windows XP, you can use:
Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx
Image Resizer
This PowerToy enables you to resize one or many image files with a right-click.

are you sure your images are in fact jpg files, sounds to me as when they are bmp files,
look at the end of the file name, if the three letters after the dot are jpg, if not, just click
file menu at the top taskbar and click "save as" on the menu, then choose at "save as type" the jpg and click save, then you have saved it twice, delete the image with the bmp extension and you have a jpg image with a much lower space requirement on your harddrive, and for emailing,
