I have a Vantec Nexstar NST-350U2 external hard drive. I have the Windows drivers to it. Where would I find the Linux drivers? They aren't on the Vantec Website?

You shouldn't need them at all, as long as you are using a fairly recent linux distribution (or an old one that supports the USB Mass Storage devices).
In fact, such "drivers", I believe, don't exist.

In addition to this, there is a small bug in the Fedora Core 6 kernel recognizing some USB items on a cold boot (might even be already fixed). You didn't specify your distro.
Otherwise, anything I've plugged in to date has worked out of the box as it were.

That's one of the things I love about Linux, just plug equipment in and it's there, ready to use without wasting time installing drivers and restarting.

I just got onto the Linux computer and it does see the external hard drive which is in the Vantec enclosure.
My Linux version is Mandriva Linux 10.1, 2005.
Incidentally, the sound card shows up but I'm not getting any sound.

Mandriva in particular is usually pretty good about having these things working out of the box. Is your sound card brand new? Perhaps it is officially unsupported, but would still work in some other mode.
Are you asking for help with the sound card? If so, we need more specifics.

Mandrake/Mandriva used to have sound muted by default, check your sound settings.

try upgrading to a powerpack version of mandriva( the new name for mandrake linux) and the powerpack version isnt free but only 20$ or so comes with 3d desktop and many proprietary drivers such as nvidia drivers and so on , 10.1 was the 1st version btw that started getting usb drivers in it and done half decent newer monitors won't have driver support as 10.1 mandrake is a bit old. I also found the odd sound issue with alsa ( the sound system on mandrake 10.1 you lucked out i had previously used that version) i have recently upgraded to mandriva 2007 and wow nice look and very very slick)
works great on vmware also version 5 of vmware with xp so now i can have my windows games/apps and linux apps. it also comes with a cool 3d driver game and cedega which is wicked for gaming )
www.transgaming.com for cedga stuffs.
