Hi trying to get my friends old pc going runs win98 i tryed 3 diferent mouse and none is recog. I plug it with a pin connectet that is how old is. Can some one shine a light on me. I rebooted every time the mouse shows on harware but with yellow sign. tX

My thought would be to find the drivers for the mouse you are trying to install and use those drivers rather than depend on Windows supplying them.

I run an older system for use if Hi-speed goes down or for the grandkids to play on. I couldn't get a mouse to work and went to Staples where they sold me a labtec for about $10.00. Said it was about the only one they carry that will work on the older systems.
