Breadmachine pumpernickel

Has anyone here have a GOOD recipe for pumpernickel....I tried a couple from the internet and converted a regular bread recipe for pumpernickel....the best tasting was the converted one but, denser than I'd like.....maybe it's a touch and go but, thought that I'd ask to see if anyone else had had any luck.

take your converted recipe and mod it.
1)go to a bulk food place and buy about a cup of gluten flour
2)substitute half of your whole wheat flour for unbleached white flour
3)add 1-2 tablespoons of the gluten flower tio the mix and then use the whole wheat setting.
