CD ROM issues

hello, i just got a new mobo and cpu. and i installed everything... but the cd rom does not show up in my computer only the 3-1/2 and c drive
my D drive doesnt show up...
if i look in Decice manager it is also not listed there.
when i boot up the pc it show the hard drive the cd drive and the floopy.

i've tried changing the cords around. tried puting the cd on the same ide cord? (wire) as the HD... when i do that nothing is listed on boot up.

so i have it on it;s own. (like i used to have it before update)
and i am running win 98 :p

cant update vcard because i cant use the cd rom. lol

only other thing i can do is try it with another cd rom drive..

also when add new hardware area. and click on CD-ROM controllers mine isent listed.. LG

i tried a different cd-rom and still nothing

looked back and someone else had same problem.. and it is fixed
