Hi there:
oops i was trying to get a jpg file to "open with" Adobe Photoshop CS2 and pointed to the shortcut on my desktop by mistake. (Pointing to the Photoshop CS2 programme defaulted to the file opening with the previous version of Photoshop). I didn't want this to be a permanent association.
Anyway, you can see from the attached file that i now have this blank think listed in the "other programmes" list. It's not doing any harm, but i would like to get rid of it cause it's bugging me.
i'm running winxp pro with service pack 2, and am not all that comfortable editing the registry, but could do it, if i know what i'm looking for... i'd hate to take out the wrong thing. i know WHERE to look HKEY CURRENT USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Exp lorer\FileExts but am not exaclty sure what key to look for.
there are a few listed in the registry under jpg (see the other attachments) but like i said, i'm not sure which one to delete to get things back to the way they were this morning. Doing a system restore would take me too far back.
i ran ccleaner too but didn't see anything there that seemed to be what i was looking for.
thanks in advance for your help...
