I like many others I refill my ink cartridges. Recently, yellow would not function even when there was an ample supply of ink in the reservoir. Last night I "steamed" the print head, I use HP cartridges, and presto chango the yellow is flowing again.
With the rest of the hot water from the kettle I made myself a nice cup of coffee and proceeded to continue with some graphic work.

Wait, steam? how exactly did you do this cause my brother all in one is malfunctioning, my black ink works perfectly but the three colours don't even register as being installed.

just put the ink above the steam...do not put too much steam on and it will work. My friend's dad does that with his ink

Just tried it, didn't work. Time to bring the printer in :@

could be the printer not being able to read the ink cart. from the back part...or it is the printer itself not working....

Some inks are alcohol based and the cartridge can be fixed by gently rubbing the nozzles with a cotton swab and some rubbing alcohol.

I think that might be my prob, cause my printer usually does a cleaning every 2 days. It hasn't done it recently and suddenly my coloured ink doesn't work.
I'll give the alcohol a try.
