What a machine. So far I am very impressed and pleased with my purchase. To hook up to the internet was fairly painless. It has built in Wi-Fi, so I just turned it on, and it scans for an access point, enter your WPA key, and your connected. The Playstation Network is free, unlike X-Box live, and you can download demos of new games that are not yet released. Grand Turismo HD is a 700mb demo, and it only took me 1/2 hour to download it. You can download PS1 games for free as well. It also has BlueTooth, which is great for keyboards. 4 USB ports. SD slot so you can insert your card from your digital camera and copy your pictures to the 60 gig HDD. The HDD can also be replaced if you want to put in a higher capacity drive. And for an extra bonus, it plays BlueRay disk movies. Not a bad deal considering a BlueRay disk player will run you about $900. Anyone else have a PS3, I would love to hear some other opinions.

My CONS - No HD cables included in the box. That really pissed me off. It just comes with composite cables, which kinda defeats the purpose. The game selection also sucks right now, and the games that are out are expensive. ($69.00) It also gets HOT!!! I haven't had any problems yet, but the heat concerns me.

Cheers

Gonna grab one probably this year... just waiting for some AAA Exclusive PS3 titles to come out. I had no interest in any of the titles at Launch, so even though I had like 500 down at EBgames, I just figured I'd hold off til this year.

I have played PS3 @ the bestbuy tent. I was not impressed. Call of duty 3 for one ran much better on the 360. and the fact that I walk into ebgames and see the ps3 in total freeze mode makes me iffy too.

I've had the xbox360 for just about 1 month (xmas gift) ... no complaints . NHL07 looks amazing and my TV is HD so fully benifits. and my package came with HD cables so +1 :)

Im still trying to find a PS3 at a store to try out that isnt frozen. But all reviews that have compared 360 versions of games to PS3 ones like Marvel ultimate alliance, tony hawk project 8, call of duty 3 , have all said that he 360 verisons run and look better.

IMO , the PS3 is mainly a tool to push teh blu ray format.

I totally agree. personally i'd also rather go with a HD-DVD.. I was @ bestbuy and had the chance to see an HD-DVD and Blueray player both on a DLP HDTV. full 1080p... The differencein quality was minimal to the eye. But the price is a different story altogether. I see the HD-DVD -> x360 doing better than PS3 in the long run.

I'm very curious to know what Sony has been thinking lately. They've been pushing 1080p and BlueRay like crazy, asking us to bow to their awesomeness, and then they take the premium version of their console and include cables that will only allow you to access up to 480i? At such a high price point you'd think they'd at least give you the cable to run the thing. I don't think that's so much to ask. I assume they want another 60 or 70 dollars for the Offical Sony Cable?

The difference is very minimal and consumers in general like myself who do like things like High def arent as die hard as audi oand videophiles who inspect every decible and pixel will go with the better value.

That is defintely HD DVD as the player are cheap and MS gave the option for me to buy one as an add on for the 360 and didnt force me to shell out the extra 200 bucks with the system to have it.

Right now though i dont have a tv that would make good use of high def, so no HD DVD or blue ray regardless, and many many people feel the same way.

Funny, how did I know i would get 360 owners talking trash? JEALOUSY? Just kid'n, everyone relax. I own both, so I have first off experience with both. PS3 is a better system.

i have both and the 360 is way better..it has better games out right now, better games coming out in the feature, better online options,hd player is way better the blu ray..ps3 doesn't upconvert and with 360 version 2 coming out sometime in april it will kill the ps3..will have the new 65mn chip, ati's updated chipset,hdmi,120gb drive the hdmi cable and most likely the built in hd player

Was the verison two confirmed , i heard it was a rumour and the picture of the HDMI was really old and is not being developed.

Also, I highly doubt they will make another verison with a built in HD DVD player.
