So my speakers crapped out, anyone know where I can get a decent system for cheap? Future shop WAS offering these but they are sold out :(

Another question is my sound card, which is built in. If I buy a nice new one will it make much of a difference?

Depends on the soundcard you buy, but it has to be coupled with a good speaker system to get the most sound. What brand mobo do you have?

So an asus board, their onboard audio is excellent, been using mine since install and can't tell the difference with my bro's audigy 2 installed.

did you try the bestbuy site? I recall seeing a creative system for sale.

but i h8 mail in rebates . On the site it says $60 mail in but when you click the actual rebate it states its only $50 :S

Each Asus board has a different sound device - depends on the chipset. Probably won't make a difference since most computer speakers are of poor quality.

the only difference will be in the other part of the on board sound seldom used Recording.
sound output you should be ok.

they look good to me the bass is nice.
my setup is an old mini rs amp with a bass box and 2 premiere 2 ways.
really all I need.

there good speakers, decent sound for sure.

only thing i can see that would be a drawback is the all plastic construction but this just means you don't drop them.
