Everytime I boot up, I get this message that says something like, "setup is now updating your configuration files." It shows this regardless of whether or not I install stuff. Why does it keep doing this and is there a way I can stop it?

Check for a file called WININIT.ini

Post back the contents.

Are you running some utility that does "house cleaning" of files. Such as browser files.

The INI file is set up to delete the Index.dat files on the next reboot.

So, when Wininit.exe sees the INI file, it processes it and you get the message about configuration updates.

Ok, I see where this is going. So I guess it isn't really a problem then. Cool. Thanks.
