I voted YES, but with many "buts" ....

.. after many months of updates and bug fixes
.. after the hardware manufacturers catch up
.. after the software manufacturers catch up
.. after the security leaks are plugged (oh, there will be many)
.. after the experience of those who boldly go where no one else dares to travel
.. after I see the value of doing so

Hmm, so, it automatically uninstalls illegal software .... that will cut back on a lot of updating and new installs. Big Brother is coming a reality!

Unless things (rules) drastically change (which they won't), it will never be my main O/S.

Being a system builder, we get royally screwed. Our machines change hardware on a regular basis so that we can keep up with the growing technology. We will have to buy a new copy every time we change a motherboard. (OEM Versions)

The same goes for folks out there that have custom-built high-end machines. The rules only benefit the below average consumer who goes out and buys a packaged (throw away and replace after 2 years) machine. (OEM Versions)

I as a system builder who changes parts all the time am forced to buy a full priced retail package instead of an oem or an upgrade version just to provide support for our customers who choose to run Vista, I have to know the product.

As stated above, it will not be my main O/S, it will be installed on a separate drive away from my perfectly running, purchased XP Pro!

Did and installed. I like it so far, but haven't played with it a lot. I'm not such a power user anymore anyway.

Only if good old Bill tosses a new computer to go with it.

Not upgrading to Vista bloatware. I'll stick with my Windows XPloit edition little longer. Probably get more familiar with Linux open source operating systems.

He77 no! I'm not playing into MS's DRM CRAP. I use Linux and I'm just going to have to use it more, if it wasn't for a few apps that I have to use in XP, I would go 100% Linux.

Hell no...lol.

I don't want so a massively over restricted os that uninstalls software it doesn't like.

Not to mention all the hidden stuff and near total lack of new features.

The spent how much on this mess?

Yeah, I ordered my copies from the MS store ($40 for Ultimate and $70 for Office Ultimate) but I'll probably wait a while before I install it. I might install it on one machine to just play with it.

I'm with Dr. Dan Hell NO NO NO...............Will get Linux

If a friend of mine who is a Microsoft VIP wont' install it, why would a lowly non VIP like me install it.

BTW she hates it......

Not a chance in hell I will upgrade to Vista. As soon as I get my Linux totally ironed out(just very minor issues at the moment) it's good-bye to Windoze all together...oh and I have a Mac that I totally love!

Only thing Vista would be good for is keeping my vulgar language skills up to par!
