Can someone tell me if this (http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=22442&vpn=66R-00838&manufacture=Microsoft#CustomerReviews) is the FULL version or just the upgrade?
I don't see any mention if either.
If it's the full, I will buy it as that is a good price for it.

Looks like the full version to me. If it was an upgrade it would be required to say so as you can not use an upgrade with out somthing else. Like batteries not included. :)

The $249 price is a lot better than the $500+ price for the retail version.
Does that mean it's $200+ for the box & manual???
Ok, on here (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2864286&CatId=306) it says DSP.
What does that mean & is it normal for them to take a week to ship merchandise that they have instock?
The reason why oem is so much cheaper is this:
you replace your motherboard, you replace your operating system!! Once they see a different hash from the different motherboard, they will not activate your vista.
OEM is not transferrable to any other (replacement) machine or motherboard.

The OEM is ideal for a notebook as one does not upgrade the motherboard. The best deal is the upgrade Home Premium for $169 which can be installed as a full clean install. I've done it already and it works fine.
The instruction are here:

The same would work for the Ultimate I presume.

Ok that sucks as I will be replacing the mboard & cpu/ram soon on this machine.
I don't really want to spend $500+ on an OS.

For the price difference you're 1/2 way to your upgrade.
Save getting Vista (OEM) till you get your new parts

This (http://uneasysilence.com/archive/2007/02/9477/) might throw some light on the subject.
Shouldnt you be buying a hardware part with the OEM Vista?
I know that BestByte told me to buy at least a USB port or a floppy drive to buy XP Pro (I ended up getting it for Free ;) )

None of the sites say "with purchase of". So I have to assume that no, you don't.
There is one that says you can add a BFG 7600 card & get that card at $110 so you save $20 on the card.
But that's it.

I thought you had Vista already?

I do, I am trying it for 30 days to see if it works ok on my system. I wasn't going to pay $500 for something that wouldn't work. If all goes well, I will buy it.
And I will but will probably wait till I get my new hardware.

They have a driver for the All in wonder series.
The 7.1 supports it according to the download page.

Ok, where is the cheapest I can buy the upgrade from?
I don't log into XP Home anymore so I can upgrade it to Vista & leave XP X64 as is & delete the current partition.
The cheapest I found was $285. Anyone know of a lower price?
