So I bought a new laptop came with Vista Premium installed. I have had it for about4-5 hours and so far I have experienced,
- Had to restart 3-4 times because of software hang in vista
- Got a BSOD while installing Alcohol 120%
- Got a BSOD in Safe Mode (with networking)
- Got a BSOD in Safe Mode (no networking)
& now I'm going to pop in the Recovery Cd.
GO VISTA GO, I like your new features that I mentioned above :)

lol ya...maybe
I got to return the laptop today and get another one because I have 14 days to try the laptop and be able to get a full refund within those 14 days. So i dont want to open up the cd package that came with the laptop since they could say they no longer can take the laptop back or whatever.
So got to go in and get a new one, basically wasted 4hours of setting up vista the way I like it lol.

I haven't had any issues with Vista Ultimate myself.
Dual booting with XP ATM.

Well im pretty sure it was a program I installed (Alchol 120%) which installs a driver for an image drive & Vista does not like the driver so it decided have a heart attack. Im suprised vista does not have anything built in to fix problems like this.....on right this is from Microsoft :)

my first install of Vista went south the moment I installed DaemonTools (same idea as Alcohol 120) I could not recover from it.

The funny thing is that you're returning it because of 3rd party software. I just installed the trial of Alcohol 120 & it worked just fine.

It's been known for months that some versions of Alcohol 120%, Nero, and Daemon Tools would have problems with Vista. Same thing with some anti-virus programs.

South is good this time of the year :D I hate these freezing weather.
I bought Ultimate version off Ebay, I'm still not sure if I want to go ahead with it. RAM department is kind of low with 1G. I may install it when I have $$ for another stick of 1G.

Yes Alcohol 120% has to be the latest version or BSOD will happen..
