I forgot: how do you remove the welcome window in win98??

>primary network logon
>change to microsoft family logon

Get TweakUI (http://www.microsoft.com/ntworkstation/downloads/PowerToys/Networking/NTTweakUI.asp).
Look under Logon

To the first question: yes, going to try the second advice. (it is an old computer that I`m fixing).

do you mean the splash screen on boot up?
if it is next time it boots look for a small box
in the lower left corner thats were you disable
it.
if the login screen requesting a password follow
the suggestion above.

the window I`m taking about, comes when you are starting or rebooting the computer. I`ll check as soon as the hubby is off it.

To remove the startup screen in Windows 98

- Unhide the file C:\MSDOS.SYS.
- In the DOS box, type ATTRIB -H -R -S C:\MSDOS.SYS
- Exit the DOS box.
- Edit the file and under the [Options] section add (or change the line if present) to LOGO=0

To remove the startup screen in Windows 98

- Unhide the file C:\MSDOS.SYS.
- In the DOS box, type ATTRIB -H -R -S C:\MSDOS.SYS
- Exit the DOS box.
- Edit the file and under the [Options] section add (or change the line if present) to LOGO=0


Is this to remove the informational welcome screen?

I don`t now if it is called the informational welcome screen, in my computer it`s "welcome to window" then username and password.

This it to remove the Windows 98 welcome startup screen.
