View Full Version : My Mom's new addition (soon)
My mom lost her purebred Maine Coon this past Christmas eve when she lost a battle to a serious infection. Since then, my mom has just been so lost without a cat. We've always had cats around us as long as I can remember.
She found a breeder in Mount Albert and is waiting for her little arrival. She is only 4 week old and also purebred Maine Coon. Mom can't wait to get hold of her :)

That's a cute little new friend your mom will have.
I want to get a cat that will stay like this, I hate when they grow up!
nonetheless, it is a very cute cat!!!
Awwww...she is adoreable.
I was without cat for about a month between losing and then getting mine, I know just how your Mom feels.
Do we have a name yet?

My cat was that size when someone dumped him outside my back door almost 14 years ago.
I can't imagine life without a cat either!

I am not much of a cat person so I don't know a lot of breeds but I have a Calico and this kinda looks the same. What is the difference?

I didn't know Maine Coon kitties came in Calico. She's a cutie. More pictures when your mom picks her up please!!!
Yes for sure, I'll probably be picking her up since mom is in London and the little one is in Mount Albert (up towards keswick). She's mulling over a whole bunch of names but hasn't decided on one yet for her. Coons come in all different colours. Here's the breeders website, the kittens are so cute: http://www.sharmani.com

When we lived in Bowmanville a couple of years ago, they had a Maine Coon for adoption at the local Pet Value. Beautiful cat. He was abused by his previous owner and we wanted to adopt him so bad but our two dogs like to bounce on our cat every chance they get. So we were afraid that he would get hurt or possibly our dogs because he was a biggen.
I think the wife went in there every day to see how he was doing. She was about to bring him home anyway when two retired teachers adopted him and gave him a good home.:yhp: :yhp:

That doesn't sound good.
Do you think she is in pain??
Not an easy subject to address.
:(
maine coons are quite a cat.
We ended up with a pure black maine coon from a vet, and I didn't realize what is was until I heard people talking about them. Then I checked it out.
Yes they are a big cat. And their coat is nothing like I've ever seen on a cat.
This thing is is the biggest clown of a cat I have ever seen. The siamese, is not amused in the slightest.

They seem to be more like a dog then a cat, from what I've read.
The black & white is papa, the other is mama :)

Some scale would be nice, but I know that's not always possible.
Got a pic of the whole litter today :)
oh man.
I'll take all of them.
Cuteness overload!
I'd like that little dark one in the back, or wait, maybe the little orange and white one, hmmm..the grey one is ...
Wahhh..! I want them all too.
My sister and I are trying to talk her into taking 2 including the little dark one in the back :)

Two is great.
Siblings are fine company for each other when their "staff" is out.
Have they sexed the 'black' one yet?? A big male would be cool.
I think it's a girl. If I'm correct, the very light grey one is the only boy.

The one one the left, with the overwhelmed look on his face?
"Five sisters!!!!!"
Update:
Sadly, mom's little one passed away yesterday of a heart problem. Mom is so upset as I am too.
She will soon receive a photo of another one that will be available, I'll post the pic when she sends it to me.
Our hearts are broken....

From your post I still see 2 coming to her.
Only one would be too much of a reminder of "what might have been."

My, yes, too cute by half.
She has that regal, are you lookin' at me, look.
Princess is too common, Duchess is to old-fashioned, so I have decided on Anastasia (Anne for short, my Mom's name).
:tooths:
PS: The kitty in the back looks none to pleased.

Now there's an idea for a name. Fluffy !
What a little doll. She's gorgeous, pretty markings look at those little mittens! (Is that the little dark one in the back of the other picture?) :d
with that face she needs a mischievous name. We have a black maine coon we named her 'Sonia'.

That is such a cute pic of the two of them! :)
My suggestion: Jasmine.
she's presently being called " hey you" and "where are ya" not to mention "here kitty, kitty".
I have four and when I got them I observed and watched their little purrsonalities and each one being their own little being they eventually gave me clues as to what their names should/could be. I went from there.
I still cant get over how cute she is, her eyes are so pretty.
Jasmine is cool...Jazz for short..
Mom says she was sitting in the family room howling like a little banshee this morning when she got up. Says she's a real good eater too ;)

As the lone male voice is this family discussion, you have squat to say about it.
It is just so, has always been so, and will continue to be so.

Mom has found a name she likes, her name is now Hailee. Just not sure if that's the correct spelling Mom chose :)

Good choice - with a name like that you can emphasize different parts of the name depending on whether the behavior is good or bad. Matches the kitten!
