Where are these saved? I can't find them.
It seems that whenever it gets an error, it wipes out my favs & any exports & I have to redo them all.

May be of interest,
You can take a look at:
C: > Documents and Settings > user > Application Data > Mozilla > Firefox > Profiles > xxxxx.default > bookmarks
Note that Application Data in regular situations is a hidden folder.

Ya I looked there before posting but there wasn't a bookmarks folder in xxxxx.default.
There was however a bookmarks.bak file but that must've overwritten the other as all the bookmarks I saved in ff were not there.

Useful extension you should consider using.:
Bookmark Backup
Bookmark Backup is a simple extension that helps to keep your bookmarks safe. Each time Firefox is closed, a copy of your bookmarks file will be made to a backup location. If Firefox's bookmarks become corrupted or lost, find the most recent uncorrupted backup and copy it into your profile folder.

In your profile folder you should have a bookmarks.bak file, copy it (to your desktop), rename the copy to bookmarks.html. Don't do this while running Firefox. Now place the renamed file to your profile folder and you're set.
