View Full Version : is this good?
Why are tigerdirect.ca prices so cheap?
The router i bought was a B but still after the rebate i got it for free, as well it works fine.
This is the product that i am interested in

as well i assume that even though this card is G it would still be compatible with my B router.

The G will be backward compatible with the B standard. And Tigerdirect is cheap because they have a lower profit margin for each product than stores like Bestbuy and Futureshop. Lower prices is the main way they compete against the larger store chains.

Yeh, I've bought a few things from TG that landed being almost free after receiving the rebates. I consider the rebates to be like money in the bank. You forget about them, and then one day they arrive - like a gift from Grandma :d
Why are TigerDirect.ca prices so cheap?
1. cheap overhead meaning they do not pay employees well.
2. they bring in a lot of liquidated products from the USA directly, no middle man.
3.the link you have has it stated as a recertifies product. meaning used or retuned product or defective and repaired. any one of these should not be sold as new or for a price of new. it is always true you get only what you pay for and not any more even on a good day!
4. alot of their products are not brand name, or are older models past their best before date:
I have had no problems so far with the few things I have bought from Tiger direct.
Tiger direct is opening a store at hwy 427 and Queensway blvd in Etobicoke. opening now set back to November now I heard.
Maybe a second store will move Staples, Best buy and Future shop to price match them. We are paying far too much for electronic here compared to people in the USA. The middle man (Canadian distributor) is ripping Canadians off and today there really is no need for a distributor here, the world is getting smaller and we have just in time delivery form all points in the USA. The Canadian Government with customs at the border is the real problem for retailer getting supplies today who needs a tariff.

Most of the TG product that I have purchased has come direct from the states through the TG shipping point at the border. Tiger Direct is a US company out of Miami. They have both a US site (.com) and a Canadian site (.ca). They have been building their Canadian identity for awhile now.
i agree that electronics are $$$
alrite so i will buy my wireless card soon :D
there are some really $$$ wireless cards and some really cheap ones. If i do invest in expensive one what should i get?
