Grr.

It seems there were a pair of nasty dogs running loose around the Halton Hills area today. Angel just found out that her mom's dog, Pika, was attacked by them -- right on her front doorstep. She shooed them away by yelling at them and chasing them off with a cane. (Truly a "get off my lawn!" moment) Evidently they'd gotten into her parents' chicken coop and killed several chickens, too. They had no collars, so no one knows if they belonged to anyone, but I'm certain if her mom hadn't gotten there in time they would have torn poor Pika apart.
Pika was taken to the vet, and some $250 later she was pronounced fit for duty again, suffering only some bruises and relatively minor cuts. It could have been much worse, though.

Here's a pic of Pika (she's the one on the left):so you know the size of her

A handy cane is all well and good, but a Louisville Slugger might be a better choice.

The pugg dog or whatever it is called should have called MIB, LoL. I have a Doberman-Rottweiler and they need a good handler, not just anyone.

That's a tough one. Dogs on the run in semi-rural/rural areas are extremely difficult to catch.

This line got me though:

Lise Levesque, Halton Hills' animal control officer, said if the dogs are picked up they will be held for three days at the Limehouse shelter before being put up for adoption.

Semi-feral, aggressive dogs make the best pets...
