View Full Version : Golf course completely flooded

A friend of mine belongs to Donalda Club, which is located in the Don Mills / York Mills area. Beautiful course but the Don River snakes through it and with the storm we had last Friday, the Don overflowed. These are some pics he took about an hour after the rain stopped.

He tells me the course is now closed for the remainder of the season and it will cost hundreds of thousands of $$$ to resod, rebuild the sand traps, fairways etc.

My Sister-in-law lives down by the course and she says it's a mess. The stinking rich will just have to find some where else to golf I guess.

Used to be a ritzy club, but they've dumbed it down over the last few years to increase membership. Cheaper to join now from what I hear. His company pays for it so he's lucky.

Now that's a water trap!

Roads underwater or washed away is OK .... temp inconvenience.

But a golf course - that's a disaster!! Where's my boat and floating golf balls?

Wonder what the Toronto Board of Trade golf club was like by the airport? By Atwell and Dixon Rd. I used to work for a company where our office overlooked the valley that the club was in. Every heavy rain it flooded.

I just hope none of the stinking rich were on the course when the rain hit. Well I guess you build a course on a flood plain you shouldn't be too surprised if it floods.

It's still miles ahead of the raw sewage in Morningside Park.

I used to play Don Valley quite a bit.

Wonder how that branch of the river did???
