ps3 question

i am interested in getting one now they are avaiable again..my question is for anyone who has one..the controllers use batteries i take it?is there a battery pack they the 360 and last can u play dvd+r/-r and dvd+r/-r dl disks?

The controllers have batteries, but you don't take them out to charge. You just plug your joystick in and it charges while you play. As for dvd-r's etc, I'm not sure, I haven't tried. But i have tried blueray discs for movies, looks awsome in 1080p.
