I have read through some articles and know how to do it (haven't done it yet) but I was wondering...that if I leave the:
ProductID=
FullName=
OrgName=
ComputerName=
blank, will it prompt me for it?

I seem to remember that sysprep had to have that data to run, but don't quote me on it.

Ok, but this is not sysprep...this is just the unattended install using an answer file.

All the articles I have read tell you to execute the installation from WINDOWS. How do I start the install from the CD...ie I want to put the disk with the 'unattend.txt' file on it and have it use that file when installing from the CD.
How can I do that?

If you want to install then just boot from the CD and start the normal installation. It should then be automated from there after.

Did you follow the guide thoroughly and have a file called winnt.sif?

yep.
tried it with different upper case and lower case too...no luck....tried different methods about 5 times....nothing worked.
Now, this version I have is a select license from work that I am installing on my work laptop. Does the licensing make a difference?
