Is it possible to remove vista? I absolutlely hate it and it doesn't seem possible to remove it. I've looked through google, and just can't find it. I tried formatting then reinstalling, but it won't let me format it.

Did I give Microsoft my computer by installing this? Because it seems I don't have a say in what it does anymore. ;(

I agree, just put in the WinXP CD, boot from CD, and format the partition.

Or just kill the partition and then create a new one and format that which may be more through.

I tried a dual boot but it wouldn't load fully on my machine I also had a hell of a time getting rid of it as it totally destroys your boot.

Formatting should work though using the XP cd rom.

get the Hiren boot cd and format the HD and format it back again...or just use the XP CD like mentioned b4.

I'll try a different XP disk. It wouldn't accept my recovery disks. And told me I couldn't format because I wasn't authorized. What a joke, not authorized to do things to my own computer.

I'll try it and tell you how it goes soon. Thanks for the replies. :)

I had purchased Vista with a new machine about a month ago and after just one day went back to XP. All I had to do was boot from my old Windows XP CD and could format and wipe out Vista that way.

Reason I backed out was that there was hardware that just wouldn't work yet with Vista such as my soundcard and webcam. Maybe in 6 months I'll try it again if I can find the right dirvers, etc.

I dont know why people are so eager to try Vista out when all the different sites on the net are saying to not upgrade to it.

I bought my PS2 a year and a half after it was released so if there were any bugs it would have been fixed. Same with XP. I was using Win2K for a year after XP came out. With Vista, it will be the same, I am leaning over towards the summer around mid May to early June when I put Vista on...
