just installed vista home 64 bit on a dual boot machine..did all the updates and have a wireless connection and it won't stay connected for very long..it keeps dropping after 10-30 secs..its ssid broadcasted with a wep 128 bit key that i use for all the laptops using xp and they work fine..i just can't seem to stay connected long enough to surf or download any files..i tried to install the vista driver for my network card but vista says the current ones is the better choice...ok i have the linksys wireless g router and pci card without speed boost and have the expand ranger down on the main floor..is there any tricks getting this to work without changing to much in the setup..everything works fine on xp just not vista..there will only be 1 machine using vista

Try going to the properties for the network adapter and under Power Management, turn uncheck all the power management options. Also is the nic on the approved list for Vista? If not, you might be better off with one that is.
