I need assistance from someone who knows or smokes themselves. What are the prices of cigarettes in Ontario? It is for an economics assignment.

20-Regular
20 - King Size
25 - Regular
25 - King Size

What are the prices for these 4 packs?

Depends on brand and the store.

King and regular 20s are the same price. Usually around 8 bucks.
Same for the 25s, they are the same price and are around 10 bucks.

I dont smoke but my buddy owns a gas station. I know his prices are 8 55 small, and 10 30 for large. Thats after taxes.

Aren't there like 3 categories for brands budget (macdonald, etc) premium (dumaurier, etc) and premium (benson/hedges, etc)?

I don't smoke either but as Law said, it depends on the brand and the retailer. It's no different than buying a large bag of chips or a case of pop. Some charge more than others for the same brand.

Why not just go to the nearest convenience store and ask?

Here's something that might help you (pdf file)....

Yeah, I found the same PDF file, but have reached the same conclusion as you, T.

BTW, throw your teacher off and include the price for Indian cigarettes, but they just come in shrink-wrapped 200's.

Yeah, but the ones I'm referring to are the cheap, no packaging, Native brand. ;)

There is another group, not included in the "3" categories above, available at some stores, and taxed, for about $5.00 for 25. They originate in Quebec.

They probably spray them, like that Chinese wheat. :hft:

Unlike the native cigarettes, they have a list of ingredients/toxins, and meet the criteria, to be taxed, and legal. The native "brands" are of unknown content, as are the knockoffs from China, which are counterfeits of the big name brands.

They should start selling "cigarettes" from B.C.

They'd make a killing. :d

Indeed they would, however, there is no need to import them, as they already have branch "plants" here.

Native cigs are like DK and Putters if IIRC. Where can you buy those? Besides of course driving 100s of miles to an indian reserve.

Lots of stores carry those brands (Putters, Podium,etc.). The bags, you need to get from the reserve.

$7 a carton.

But only for the seriously dedicated.

I hear the native brands are like sawdust. Only the people who can't part with the cigarettes go for those. If you have you to smoke those, its time to quit.
