Was just out for a drive and I got my gas for 93.5. This is at the same gas station I pass by on my way home from work, about 6 hours ago it was 98.5. Boy I feel so guilty stealing from the BIG oil companies....NOT:eri:
Good for you....did you fill 'er up? :d

You bet, and I wouldn't be surprised that when I pass the gas station on the way to work in the morning it will be over $1

It's pretty sad that we're getting excited about paying 93.5 for gas :(
I'll be happy when it goes back to 63.5 /L :d

Actually Dr Dan what is sad is that I don't think we will ever see those types of prices again:mad:

We could, if Alberta ever decided not to charge world OPEC prices for their oil...which is really all of Canada's oil

63.5! You are a :bby: now arent you :)
I can remember when buing gas at the unheard of price of 37 cents a Gallon (Imp.) I even boycotted stations that raised the price above 42 cents!
Right about now I would happily fork over the cash for those prices but it too is a dream. Even if it went to 45 cents a gallon ... imagine --- 10Cents a litre! :hys:

America is one of our biggest purchasers of oil so in that respect LET them pay! I won't mind suffering a bit.

I stand to be corrected on this but Canada is what...one of the top 10 oil producers in the world, and yet we still pay the spot price for oil ???
Ever notice how the top oil producing countries in the world pay only a fraction of what we, as an oil producing country, pay for oil ??

It was only in the 20 cent/L area when I started driving... but I do remember 35 cents per Gallon :)

I started driving in 1981 and I think it was around 25 cents a litre back then

But they don't have a Canadian Government .... eh?

Could you imagine waking up in the morning and passing a gas station with those prices posted, it would be mass hysteria........Okay I just pinched myself and came back to reality...:hst:

We complain about the price of gas today but in my view it is still balanced as to the wages we get.
I started working and had a wage that was roughly $14.80 a day or $148.00 biweekly without overtime. At 39 cents per imperial gallon, 18 gallons would top up my Poncho ('62 Ragtop). Averaging 18 Gal / tank @ 39 cents cost $7.02. So to put it into perspective, I would have to work just shy of half a day to pay for that tank of fuel.
Now a days I pour about $50.00 into the tank of the van and $35.00 into the car per week. Filling both cars still doesn't cost me the same percentage of my wages compared to the cost of fuel.
Yes Fuel went up but it is still in perspective when compared to wages past and present.
A young driver starting out will feel the pinch but as wages increase, more can be afforded. That I think is the key > affording the cost of driving <
Prior to buying my first car, my old trusty 3 speed sturmy archer by Raleigh got me to work and back in the summer, even on those rainy days but the 9 miles seemed to take forever if I had a head wind on the way home.

Bovaird and Main St in Brampton at the Pioneer was at 91.3 waited almost 20 mins to fill, because they were having problems at the pump

I remember as a kid my dad going to fill up the car and then deciding not to becuase the gas had gone up to 29.9 in anticipation of a long weekend.
I also remember back in 1998 when we just got our new Maxima that it took only $27 to fill up the tank with premium. Now it takes amost $70 to fill up.
