Do I uninstall older version of Ubuntu?

I am downloading the new Ubuntu program. Do I have to uninstall my previous version before I install the new program?

Not necessarily. If you have a home partition (where all your data resides), then it is a snap to just install the new over the old as you are still using the same file system. If you do not have a "home" partition and your data sits in "root", you should back up everything and then format and partition accordingly.

Unless someone else answers, I'll let you know tomorrow (Fiesty is downloading as I type) exactly what to do as I plan to upgrade my Edgy box. The data on it is expendable as I'm still toying with it.
