I'm so glad that I never introduced my cats to wet food. Even their treats are dry.

Lot's of dry food previously.

One of mine needs wet, apparently she doesnt drink enough and the wet supplements that. I guess I chose the right stuff, so far no recall on Whiskas pouches. I contacted Effem Foods back when this all began, via phone and email. They assured me they make their own and dont outsource so they know exactly what goes into their brands which include Sheba and Cesar (for dogs). So far so good, their staple that I free feed them is Royal Canin for Persians and the Oral Sensitive, nothing on those particular varieties either.

Now it's cross contamination, NICE.

It's just appauling, over 5000 reported deaths between cats and dogs over this to date, not to mention I havent seen numbers on the ones that survived.

:(

One of my cats also drinks very little from a stand-alone water dish, so what I do is simply put dry food in her dish and then add water (in the same dish). In order to get to the "good stuff", she needs to drink the water the first.

Works great :)

Problem with that is, she is wise to it and turns her nose up at it, and also I want her to have the advantage of the hard dry food for her teeth. I dont feed treats, and a specific dry food is their treats.

It aint broke, so I aint fixing it. :d

What about turning on the cold water tap on the sink? - most cats like drinking from a tap with running water. One of mine loves it :)

They wont get on counters. I had a cat before these ones and he loved water, making messes with it, playing in it in the sink (where his water dish was) sitting in it. Not these guys.

Plus that's where baths happen. Hissssss. :d

lol...

My abyssinian (Jessica) is the one who goes nuts every time I turn on the tap in the kitchen lol. It's a pain at times (such as when I'm rinsing vegetables etc.) and I have to put her back down on the floor.

But when I let her do her thing, I have an old rubber floor mat that I prop up on the counter right next to the sink and it works great.

Don't you just love "cat personalities"? lol :d
