I upgraded yesterday, I got a special deal from Bell :) it was pretty easy to setup and it only took 30 minutes it comes with A book and two CD-Roms filters & cables and walks you through the setup process.
As far as setting up the modem/router it has a web interface like a regular router there you can do your administrative work.
just enter your user name and password and your good to go
I like it much better then that speedstream 5200 I had ....so far Ive noticed no disconnects or DNS issues and it dosnt overheat like that old modem.

speedstream 6520... not a bad modem. i think i set mine up in 15min, but i've also walked computer illiterate people thru the setup on one of those things.
did you get the modem with the speed increase deal, or some other way?

No I have the 3mb service I really like the modem it dosnt take up alot of space on my desk either.
I'm planning on buying a nic card eventually
I wouldn't recommend that home networking modem. Wireless performance is terrible, the firmware is a little buggy and depending on your line it may cause issues.

the 6520 has some issues becuase of bad firmware.
during high speed file transfers it tends to freeze briefly and the same happens with big downloads.
it doesn't loose conection it just stops for a few sec.
this causes issues with bittorents and large downloads.
there have been some that do work without issues so you may get lucky.

boy can i understand that.
presently the 5200 (e42) is the best , stable, fast and runs cool unlike its older brother (e40) which was the foot warmer...lol.
from what i understand if you do have issues with the 6520 you can just use it in bridged mode with another router in control.
isn't it fun haveing fast and stable internet.
