Hello!

I am a PC gamer who is intersted in purchasing a game called "Test Drive Unlimited" and I was wondering if anyone knew what the best kind of AGP video cards are for this game. Currently I only have a 128mb AGP video card, I want to upgrade to a 512mb AGP video card for a reasonable price. I am on a budget but I still want to find the best video card for this game.
Please get back to me ASAP!

Thanks!

Thats not bad. I have been looking on ebay.ca for one and so far I find that they are cheaper in the stores. Future shop has one for $150.00+tax. I think its better just going there because you don't have to wait, right?
Can you tell me Lesley if this video card is efficient?

ATI Radeon X1600 Pro AGP 512MB Video Card

thanks!:)

HI, I was looking for a card not long ago and was looking at the ati radeon 6500 pro 512 AGP card. I bought it and tried it out. IT was good but then someone suggestion the geforce 7600 and it was even better but cheaper than the 1650 pro.

I got it from future shop

Hi Law,
Oh really? Well you are right about geforce, they have got a good name in the video card industry. Though still on future shop their price is $186.99 (on sale) and the ATI radeon is only $149 (on sale) so I want to know if the geforce has better ratings than the ATI radeon, because most of the new games that I am interested involve very high demands when it comes to performance.

Here is a link to my thread i made when i was looking for a card. Some people psoted links , one had a comparison for a bunch of different cards and the geforce outdid the ati 1650 pro.

I tried both cards myself and the geforce did perform better. When i bought it , it was on sale for 169.99.

check other stores for their price, it may be cheaper than 189 at FS.

Ok thankyou Law for your help, I am going to research some more information on the geforce video card because alot of reviews say it is better when compared to the ATI Radeon. If I have anymore questions I'll get back to you.

Thanks!

I've been looking at video cards, and there are a bunch of mail-in rebates on now for nVidia cards from BFG Tech. e.g.:

http://www.canadacomputers.com/index.php?do=ShowRebates

I know mail-in rebates can be sketchy, but...

Dude, stop looking at MBs -they mean squat for lowerend v.cards.. Stick with 7600.

Sorry, I forgot to mention to you guys that my computer can only take 8x-4x and 4x so I'm still an owner of an older computer. Also I'm a gamer who wants great performance for a great price. I'm ON A BUDGET!!
Any other good cards out there?

thanks

Ok, the best price/performance card right now is probably the 7600gt. Actually I would say the 7800gs is probably the best price performance video card but your CPU is severely limiting the entire system so I say stick with the 7600GT.
The bare requirement for TD:U is Geforce6600gt which is generally faster than 7300gt. Take this information as you may.

What kind of budget are you on? Honestly, it might be better to just save up for a little while and then buy a nicer system. AGP is a dead end and any card you buy for it will only last another year or so before it'll be too slow. Never mind upcoming DX10 games.
