apect ratio and resolution question

I just installed a new tv capture card and I was wondering what resolution I should use when capturing from the TV.
I klnow the aspect ratio is 4:3 but what does that translate to for capturing. Is it 320x240, 352x240, 352x288 etc. etc....

Any advice would be appreciated!

NTSC signal has 480 lines of resolution so 640x480 will give you something much closer to broadcast quality.

640x480 is considered DVD quality while 320x240 (half resolution) is considered VHS quality. So if you see the settings under those two names, now you know what they mean. :)
