Hey everyone,
Just bought a new pc and I am having some issues with Windows vista and volume. Everything is super quiet. I have as far as I know gone through every bloody setting for volume, and have even installed 'new' audio drivers, which got rid of my handy audio manager that came with my system. If I put on my headphones its a decent volume, but other than that, everything is ridiculously quiet. I know a lot of other people are having this problem, and its really getting to me. any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

So what Volume are your Speakers set at and your device speakers in the Volume mixer?
By the way what PC do you have and what speakers?

everything is at 100%.. everything... as far as I can tell. and they are just some desktop speakers that you plug into the audio out. basic cheap pieces of crap that come with many boxed pcs. been using them for years on my other pc, no problem. vista is giving me a hard time.

Did you plug in the headphones in the back as well or in the front plug?

Did you download the drivers from the realtek website??? Or just from windows update? If just from windows update, you should check out the realtek website. When I was using onboard audio (for testing purposes), they ran fine and audio levels were good. I also had a Realtek audio manager for adjusting settings. I did find that if you fiddle with both Vista audio settings as well as realtek's settings, it can muck up the audio, as it appears they don't communicate well with each other.

I have an Acer and there is a sound button on the keyboard on my model. Hit FN + the up arrow to increase volume.
