View Full Version : Amd X2 4400+ S939
I am looking to start seeing what extra juice I can squeeze out of my processor. As I am doing more multitasking than I ever was, video encoding as so forth.
I cannot seem to find a master chart for AMD .. to see what my processor can do. any help?
Be nice to see comparisons too, what people have done with different rigs/cooling solutions on my processor

http://www.pcper.com/article.php?aid=141&type=expert&pid=17 - he got one to 2.67Ghz.
When I had my 4400+ I was only able to eek out a 300Mhz OC to bring it to 2.5Ghz. You can probably get the same off your cpu, but like I said before, s939 Athlon 64 X2's were never the greatest overclockers, as you can read at the bottom of this link (http://www.behardware.com/articles/571-3/dual-core-athlon-64-x2-4800-and-4400.html)
I believe my 4400+ was cooled using a Zalman CNPS7700 Cu fan. It ran on an a8n-SLI premium, with 2 GB of OCZ Premium DDR800 Ram. Sorry, I can't remember exactly what my vcore, and chipset voltages were though. Happy to say the PC is still running though w/ 7800 GTX's in SLI (I sold it to my buddy, so I check in on it from time to time).
The only thing I really do not get is the HT ratio... I do not even know what that means.. otherwise its mostly FSB tweaking. multiplier is locked from what I know, and only up the vcore to .55 if that

This article may help... it's large so I didn't read it all, but I believe it's up your alley.
HT is actually your multiplier.... athlon 64's are unlocked downward. The multiplier can only be lowered.
EDIT: Sorry, there's also the Hypertransport multiplier, which I believe starts at 5x and goes to 1x. This number when multiplied by the cpu frequency should not exceed 1000Mhz (ex. if CPU FSB is 250Mhz x 5x HT = 1250Mhz = too high). Most people drop this to 4x if they're overclocking.
