My first question would be did you empty the recycle bin after doing so? If not, right click the icon on the desktop and click restore. If you are running XP, you could also try doing a system restore. Found this for you as well.

Restoration v 2.5.14

Undelete utility that is easy to use to undelete files that were removed from the recycle bin or directly deleted from within Windows.

Download available here:

Try double clicking recycle bin, if it's empty, try system restore. Assumming you mean you deleted the file from your hard drive. Also google "hard drive undelete".

Yep, took the words right out of my mouth. It is impossible to restore a file after your hard drive has been reformatted.

Not necessarily true, but you would have to take it to data recovery place and it would cost in the thousands to recover the data.

I'd say he's SOL. Recovery tools normally can recover bits and pieces of file, but the odds of recovery a complete file in uncorrupted form are close to nil if you reformatted and reinstalled Windows. Tax files have to be 100% fully restored or the software will see it was a file that was tampered with. Not only that, but you'd have to know exactly what filename you're looking for because it will probably not show up under its original name in the recovery software.

no actually you can just use a prog called get data back. http://www.runtime.org/gdb.htm I had to use it a few times. It doesn't get everything but it does work.

I accidently clicked yes to permenantly delete my files. I had success restoring my files with Restoration 2.5.14, but i can only recover one item at a time. Does Restoration 2.5.14 allow me to restore multiple files at once?
