Hey guys, I have a problem with usb ports. The were working fine and then suddenly one day just stopped working. What can I do? I did not touch any hardware.

Sounds like the software could possibly have gotten corrupted. Try reinstalling the usb drivers from the motherboard driver cd. If that doesn't work, it could be a motherboard issue unless the usb ports are on a seperately installed card.
Some system specs may also help us to diagnose things...i.e operating system, which motherboard...etc.

Try the above post and let us know if that fixes it. Dont forget to reboot after installing the software. What you may try first is delete the usb in device manager and reboot. XP should detect it. If not reinstall.

when I use the asus cd it tells me that with SP1 or higher I dont need the cd because it comes with it. The cd wont let me download the drivers even if I wanted to.

If thats the case then remove from device manager and reboot. It should find it and reinstall the software. If not, download the updated drivers from here.

this link is not working for me do you where else I can get it.
Several things can cause that problem - and there is no point of assuming that something got corrupted without checking it out first.
Go into device manager and make sure that there isn't an exclamation mark on the USB controller. If anything was done to the system, use system restore to bring it back to an earlier date. (start menu -> accessories -> system tools -> system restore)
