Does anyone have a guide of how to reinstall Windows XP Pro without formatting a drive? I have some issues that I think reinstalling XP Pro should solve:
- Help and Support does not work
- System information does not work
- whenever I logon to my windows account I get a "Windows Installer" window that pops up and then disappears (it's not adware as I have 4 different adware programs and they all come out clean and it's not a virus)
- whenever I pop in any data CD (ie. pictures) or DVD movie I get the same "windows installer" window
I want a guide because I believe there is a way to reinstall the O/S without deleting anything and have all the programs that I have installed still work after the reinstall is completed. I need to a fresh install sometime soon but I need to buy another hard drive to back up my data but would like to do the reinstall in the meantime until their are more funds in my bank account.
