Arrange by name

Hi, i got a p3 2.53g 512 ddr ram, running XP HOME. Had this computer for over 2 years, and really havent had any major problems with it.

Today, while trying to load a program from the run command under start, i noticed the directories and files weren't arranged as usual in 'arrange by name' mode. So i fixed it manually, and I opened winamp to listen to music, again when it listed my files & directory it wasn't arranged by name. I keep having to do it manually, anyone know what could be wrong?

I believe if you go to a folder and then go to tools>folder options>view tab, you will see a button that says "apply to all folders." This will set all your folders to look like the one you are in. Make sure you set up the folder to the way you want it before you click this button.
