I'm looking at tiling an area about 30 sq. ft. It's in the basement so there's all ready a level concrete floor in place. An idea as to how much it much cost? I'd like to use something inexpensive. I was thinking of going with just plain white tile but the only problem is I don't want to use white grout. I have white grout in an upstairs washroom and it's such a pain to keep clean. However, at the same time I want something light since it's a small room and there are no outside windows. I was thinking of using a marble tile like shown below but I'm afraid that's going to coast a lot. Any suggestions?

Home Depot has some decent looking tiles for $.79 (12 x 12). You can use any of a number of different colour grouts. Marble tile looks good, but has some drawbacks. it is expensive and can stain.

You can get ceramic that looks like marble for a small fraction of the price.

We did this, and used a grey rubberized grout. That was probably 12-13 years ago, it is in the kitchen the front entry and the main hall and it looks the same today as it did then I cant see any colour variation in the grout at all..

Mind the cat, the most detailed photo I have of the floor. (This was five years ago)

One mistake I did make when choosing it, it's a high glaze, and very very slippery when wet.

try dufferin tile (steeles and 27) they have a huge selection for about a dollar a tile- much better quality than home depot

Nice looking kitchen Tess :). Very tastefully done.

I see you have fridge magnets. I gave up on those. Every time I put one up, the cat takes it down and it disappears somewhere lol
