or just senile?

Surprised Walter hasn't quoted from this gem:
http://www.torontosun.com/News/Columnists/MacDonald_Bob/2005/09/04/1201349.html

"For days, such networks as CNN, CTV, CBC (via large doses of BBC propaganda) had been telling us how the Americans, especially Bush, had lost control of the situation.

most of those who did leave were the whites. Many blacks chose to ride it out -- to do nothing.

Meanwhile, President Bush had left his summer White House in Texas and returned to Washington to take over personal command

Bush is taking things well in hand,

Soon, these naturally joyous people will be dusting off their longtime unofficial motto: "Laissez les temps roulez" -- "Let the good times roll."
-----

Course Katrina's aftermath was all just "BBC propaganda"
Bush had total control of the situation.

CHOOSING to stick it out.
Yup, that's what it was.
They all could have jumped in their SUV's,
But you know ,( nudge, nudge, wink wink,) "many blacks.. chose to do nothing".

Oh well. at least now with Bush ,at great personal sacrifice, cutting short his vacation we can all soon be sipping mint julips with these "naturally joyous people."

Bob MacDonald, Idiot ?

or just senile?

I thought that both were a given.

I generally read his columns to see how the progression of Alzheimer's Disease is going.

Worthington's not far behind him.

It could be that the wisdom of age has permitted them to automatically discard the more moronic ramblings of youth.

Well put Just Doug. The sarcasm will be lost on some.

Personally I don't quote him, or Worthington for that matter, very often because sometimes you are just a little farther right than I but I think these attacks on them speak more about the attackers than they do about Worthington or MacDonald two people who earned their battle honors. BTW I didn't know that Mayberry had lost one of it's most esteemed citizens.....up here to dry out I guess.

But in response to Frostys concerns all I can do is post the entire column rather than the selective quotes......

New Orleans will be back

By BOB MACDONALD

Yesterday, the atmosphere in New Orleans started to become more positive.

Help and supplies were arriving in large amounts and armed U.S. forces were going after those who were sniping, looting, raping and robbing.

Instead of the armed looters and snipers holding sway in the flooded area of the downtown, more than 40,000 armed National Guard and regular army troops began patrolling the targeted looting areas. And these included areas where there has been regular sniping fire at police and rescue forces.

Watching the TV news last night brought a sense that the newsfolk were almost disappointed that Bush had obviously put his full forces to work to get control and start cleaning up the mess. For days, such networks as CNN, CTV, CBC (via large doses of BBC propaganda) had been telling us how the Americans, especially Bush, had lost control of the situation. The great American nation was disintegrating.

Hogwash, of course, because these same networks had spent days doing a sloppy job of explaining the unique problems faced in New Orleans.

For instance, the worst area was that in the downtown surrounded by dams called levees. They keep the Mississippi River and a large lake from flowing into that old area. The home of Bourbon Street jazz and great restaurants. The residents there are 62% black and 28% white.

People warned

For days before Hurricane Katrina struck, the authorities had been warning people to leave the area. Bus and other services were laid on. Yet most of those who did leave were the whites. Many blacks chose to ride it out -- to do nothing.

Well, we now know that darling Katrina didn't spare New Orleans and she burst the old levees in several locations. The old area of downtown New Orleans was lost. Many drowned. We still have no reliable figures on deaths.

Meanwhile, President Bush had left his summer White House in Texas and returned to Washington to take over personal command of a nasty situation. The biggest problem was getting reliable information.

Two days ago, he flew to the south and carried out a personal investigation. And he frankly outlined what he found: "I believe that the great city of New Orleans will rise again and become a greater city.

"I know the people in this part of the world are suffering and I want them to know that there's a flow of progress," while also admitting "the results are not acceptable."

"Where it's not right, we're going to make it right," vowed Bush.

People were being loaded onto buses and more buses were arriving. They were to take the refugees to northern Louisiana and parts of Texas.

Entire area evacuated

Soon, the whole levee-enclosed area will be evacuated -- both of innocent refugees and vicious, armed looters.

And then the work can begin all-out to drain the flood areas, and rebuild the levees with a much stronger, more modern system before allowing the people to return.

The president plans to visit the downtown New Orleans area tomorrow to carry out more inspections and make sure the work is going forward rapidly.

Meanwhile, while Bush is taking things well in hand, even countries like Canada, Cuba, China and Venezuela are now offering help. Canada is sending some supplies on its naval vessels.

Fidel Castro, no friend of the U.S., is offering 1,100 doctors -- except they come with no supplies. And old Castro pal Hugo Chavez is offering oil help from Venezuela.

Knowing most of such offers are really propaganda moves, the U.S. is being leery of accepting them. Especially when it's well on the way to solving the situation on its own.

Meanwhile, in Canada our opportunistic, greedy oil companies have grabbed at the situation to perpetrate a historic gouging of Canadians on gasoline prices.

And our federal Paul Martin government, which shares in the bigger profits, continues to do nothing. Except bank the new billions.

Now, that's taking care of your people, eh Mr. Martin?

Back in New Orleans, morale is already starting to pick up, despite all the naysayers.

Soon, these naturally joyous people will be dusting off their longtime unofficial motto: "Laissez les temps roulez" -- "Let the good times roll."

I don't know but for someone who is supposed to be senile his article makes the wannabe three stooges look senile although they might have go thru treatment to elevate themselves to senile.

Possibly because in order to be surprised your mental processes have to be active.....

Last time I checked, when one leaves Texas for Washington, they travel east, not west.

Can I accept that you support people who insult someone behind their back and they have no opportunity to defend themselves.....

Would mature people post something as childish as

-good god what a delusional moron.

-or just senile

-Bob MacDonald, Idiot ?

-progression of Alzheimer's Disease?

So my precence here has already taught you something then eh?
