Hi,
My fiancee is trying to open a file that is in .sit (Stuffit) compression format.

We went to downloads.com and found the application "stuffit", on the mac download section, and we downloaded it to the eMac.

PROBLEM! The stuffit program itself is in a ".sit" format.
How can we install Stuffit to expand .sit files when itself is in a .sit format?

HELP!

Thanks again to all for your replies.

I presume this is for a Mac, or Windows?.
Available for both.
Windows: http://www.stuffit.com/win/index.html

try this link and download the dmg
http://www.stuffit.com/mac/expander/download.html

you probably need to select the 10.3 version unless you have tiger 10.4?

Once it expands, drag the application from the desktop into the application folder if it doesn't automatically go there by itself

Just want to make sure you know that Mac OS X can compress and expand zip files without additional software -- and of course these files can be handled by PCs, too. If you want to compress (or, as Apple calls it, "archive") a file, control-click (or right-click) on it and select the archive command. if you want to expand a zip file, just double-click it.

OS X is easier than you think Paul...
