internet is rock stable and fast with only a few minor issues.

bells phone repair guys on the other hand all seem to be idiots.

the house we live in is 109 years old and the phone lines where installed when we were still fighting the nazi guys...lol.

the phone lines in that time have been hit by a odd number of tree branchs and it would seem one couch (don't ask it wasn't us).

4 times we have called.

wednesday (last month) they don't show
called they say they will send a guy out on saturday
he shows up on friday.

next week we get a guy to showup on time on tuesday and he blames it on the inside wires (we replaced them).
problem still remains.

today they showup and its a perfectly calm sunny day and the phone happens to works but the intnert keeps cutting out.

he fools at the demark for 8 min and says its fine and runs off.

now to rules out a bad modem we have another here and its gets the same issue and we checked the conection at the demark with a one foot line directly to the modem to bypass and possiable inside wiring issues.

problem still remains.

so if bell sympatico confirms that the signal to the pole behind the house is near perfect and a direct conection to the modem from the demark rules out a inside wiring issue.

then why can't these bell telephone idiots figure out the issue is the wire running 50 feet from the pole to the house and just replace the stupid thing?

its like dealing with total morons paid 20 to 30 bucks a hour to do nothing.
(wondering if there hiring i could use a vacation.

I know what you mean.
when you tested with the short wire to the dm box did you disconnect
the rest of the house?
if you had then that proves the problem is outside and yes you will have to
do their work for them regarding this problem.

Apparently they are so far backed up from the strike they have been instructed to make it work the easiest way possible. We were fortunate to have a linesman call when our system went out (same symptoms as your's) and he ran a new line from the pole but that didn't totally resolve the issue. They connections (from the same time frame as your's) all need to be replaced as well.
