I just got my new bread machine. went to two stores just to find the bread machine flour. I got a problems with finding NON FAT DRY MILK. I checked at AP, just got the instant milk, the same with Lablows. A women in the store told me that she is using Carnation milk but not the instant. Could you please tell me where I can get it?? I looked in the baking aisle, nothing there.

I have never had a problem finding dry milk powder - there are fairly big bags to buy and I have bought at loblaws.

We are talking about skim milk powder, no? You do not need bread machine flour for a bread machine, all purpose works fine at much less cost.

Powdered skim milk and all purpose flour are all you need. "Bread Machine" Flour is just a way to get you to spend more money. All Purpose flour has plenty of gluten to make regular bread. If you don't want to mess with the powdered milk you can simply replace the water with skim milk.

Thanks Lesley, this is the first time I used the machine, did not have a clue what I was doing, so I figured I better follow the instructions to the T. I got the Milk powder at the balk store, I used bread flour for bread machine, the bread came very good. I did the white bread and egg bread, will try something else next week, like the whole wheat bread.
