is there a reason why it doesnt work? a friend tried to install it to an hp laptop running visa home and it gives an error message so he tried it with an acer laptop thinking it would work and it still gives him that same message i cant remember what he said the message was but as soon as he clicks the setup file the message pops up any ideas why??

shouldnt be any issues , i have installed office 2003 on vista machines before and never had any issues. to diagnose the problem better we are going to need the exact error message.

ok i found the message it was on a site here it is: error executing file this operation requires elevation

go into the disc and find the setup.exe right click and select run as administrator.

yep, the reason why this is happening is because of vistas new security.

should work.
I have windows vista premium on my laptop and i've install office 2003 and it works fine....may be a security issue, but not with mine

thats all i have to do?Yeah, the first two pages on Google for the phrase "error executing file this operation requires elevation" are people asking what the means and people telling them to run the file as an administrator.
