the 360's pricelist isn't my idea of fun it looks like it's going to be ALOTA money for anything worth getting, (around 600-700$)
the PS3 rumor of being able to use Bluetooth keyboard/mouse is enough to make me wait to see if it's real that would totally rock beyond anything

399 and 499 are Canadian prices. I don't think the graphics will be out of date for a little while, however, I won't be purchasing one right away because it will distract me from school and I still can't afford it :)

Outdated graphics in 3 weeks. no. and if you dont have the 4 or 5 hundred to spend on teh system then dont , if you do and want to then go for it. Its not stupid at all, there are tons of things people spend money on that others may think is stupid.

As i said before , thats about the same price as the first xbox but you get more stuff with it. Sounds like a good deal to me.

Sorry Law and Chew you guys didn't get the joke, I'll have to put J.k after Next time, I know the graphics aren't going to go out in 3 weeks, everyone does, but you must admint this is sorta of stupid even with out the Exchange rate it's still 25$ short of 600, again IMO too much money for a gaming Console, I've seen the pricelists, from everyone, Yes I didn't see the exchange rate was added, I've also seen many threads saying that it's going to be mighty expencive, most of them adding up something to equal 700$ USD I think for 600$ they should give you everything,

I don't know if it's becasue I'm getting older (well 23, so not that old) but I'm not that excited by the next gen consoles. I remember as a kid when they first showed the SNES, or the N64 or Saturn or what ever and I couldn't wait to get the new systems but now, I'm looking at the systems, the prices, and the games thus far announced and I see no real reason to rush out and be the first to buy. Even if I did have a real desire for a 360, I'd still wait for the PS3 launch so that I could do a real side by side comparisson. I would also just wait out for atleast the first price drop, so I'd wait atleast a year just to see where these systems go.

Obvisouly I'm getting an xbox360, the Live service is reason enough to make me wanna buy it. The system is the most well rounded console ever. I just wish I could afford buying it right away but I don't think I want to be living off bread and peanut butter all school year :p

In terms of architecture and processing power the PS3 has the upper hand, but I just bought a PSP so I wont be getting these new systems anytime soon. The XBox360 on the other hand has some really cool features that seperate it from the PS3. But as we all know the more advanced consoles dont always win the battle we'll just have to wait and see.

Oh yes and I just read some of the posts and I just want to say that people of all ages play games there are people 3x Law's age that play these VG's. Its a hobby for all ages. Its fairly presumptuous to assume that a person in their 20's or 30's that is into the next gen console hype has nothing else to do then playing video games.

The price set for both consoles is pretty equivalent after inflation to the releases of all the other consoles in the past at their time. If the PS3 was coming out the same time as the XBox I would just get the PS3, but since there will be at LEAST 4 months (probably more) I may get both. I'll definetly be getting the 360 when it comes out.

As for PC gaming vs console. I prefer console gaming, controllers are better, it's more relaxing to sit in my la-z-boy then at a desk, my stereo and tv is much better than the setup of my pc, and you're not forever upgrading. Games are made to a console standard, so you know the game will always run as advertised.

As for PS2 vs Xbox I prefer the PS2 because of its library & controller. of course xbox has the better cuz it came out later, but its not a huge difference. Right now though the only game I'm playing is Forza, which just kills GT4 (HUGE dissapointment!) I played GT4 for a couple wks, then haven't played it since...

Next games I'll be getting: NHL & NBA 2k6, (boycott EA!!)
