I knew this was going to happen.....I'm thinking it's due to a "Who wants to have an Election in January?" mentality (http://www.cbc.ca/story/canada/national/2005/09/12/gomery_election_delay_20050912.html)
I don't understand why Gomery now needs to consult ad nauseum on this. He's heard all the evidence over months of testimony. Seems to me he's using this as a means of procrastinating the inevitable.
Get on with it write your report!
We do not have very much if any information besides the high likelihood of a delay. How can you speculate or make ridiculous assumptions without an understanding of what completing such a task involves?
None of us are familiar with the legal system as it applies to dealing with government corruption.
If the conservatives are solely depending on the results of an inquiry in order to topple a minority government (even after multiple consecutive Liberal victories), that's just sad.

Sadly, you do represent the majority opinion of the general public...

The results of this "inquiry" are so important to the future of our country. The impact will be of great importance and Gomery has to really make sure he makes it as accurate as possible. He will be judged, either way, for his final comments and report. One of those Catch 22 situations.
I would not want to be in his position. Trying to stay neutral while personal thoughts, bias, and more, tug away at his decision/report. This is one document that I would write, read, rewrite, read, edit, edit, rethink, throw out (destroy), start again, for a long time. The longer it takes, the more he will be accused of Liberal influence. The quicker it is, he will be branded as siding on the opposition.
:ngf:
Of course, he could be Mulroney's shoes this morning LOL - now that's uncomfortable! It all comes back to haunt you

Likely a back-order of White-Out is causing the delay.
