Hello everyone. I recently took home a notebook from my work, I have a 2 computer network at home, and so as soon as i got home I changed the workgroup of the computer I took home to "Home" which is the workgroup for my home network.

Now I cannot log in at all. I have tried logging in under my old username and password but to no avail it wont let me in. The notebook also does not come with a floppy drive so booting from floppy wont work to format.

I need help guys! Help me get back in please.

BTW, the O/S of the notebook is Windows 2000.

Did the computer you took home log into a domain at work? You can find this out by seeing if there is another option to log onto when you go to logon, you have three fields, username/password and then local computer or domain. If you only have one choice then you may have a problem. You see your old workgroup had an administrative user who could log on as administrator with a password and have full control of the notebook, I suspect you also had administrative privelges or you would not have been able to change the workgroup. Have you tried logging in using the name 'administrator' with a blank password? There must have been a warning when you went to change the workgroup?
