Unable to create a system restore point

I am unable to create a sys restore point as I get the error "shadow copying of the specified volume is not supported".

Any ideas on what it actually means & how to fix it??

Thanks Sparky. I was positive that I had seen that service running in Task Manager but decided to double check & it was disabled.
